However, the expedition takes a dark turn when the unethical leader, Clark Nelson, kidnaps these small women and exploits them by featuring them in a vaudeville act. Little does Nelson know that the women possess a supernatural ability – their gentle songs contain a telepathic plea for assistance to Mothra, a colossal moth revered as a deity by the islanders. In response to the distress call, Mothra embarks on a path to Tokyo, leaving a trail of chaos and destruction in its wake.
